Mark it on your calendar...Nov. 7!!!

We just found a home! It's still here in a South Jordan. It's a super sweet town home! We are so dang excited! It'll be done at the latest on Nov. 7. The builder was so awesome. The people before us just backed out so the builder is giving us the place for the standard price instead of having to pay for all the upgrades that the previous people had put in it. He's also going to throw in a way nice fridge and wood blinds for the entire house. He's also working with the construction supervisor to get everything expedited so that we can move in sooner. They need to get the carpet, appliances, and counter tops in. It's 3 bed rooms, 2 1/2 baths, 2 car garage, unfinished basement. It's really nice. I'll take pictures soon and post them.

Gavin walks now! He's so cute! He walked around the house for the first time on Monday. He's still not comfortable doing it on his own. He'll follow us around, though. He saw a baby chicken the other day and called it a duck. It was so cute! He loves to say 'cheese' now. String cheese is his favorite food, besides formula.

I just read Crank by Ellen Hopkins. It was one of the most intense/darkest books I've read, but I still really liked it. The story is mostly based off of the author's daughter's life. It's about a girl who is visiting her drug addicted father for the first time in 8 years. While she's visiting him, she is introduced to crystal meth. The story is about her addiction to it and how it affected her entire life. The book is written in poetry which adds to the intensity of the book. Through the poetry, Hopkins describes the addiction as if you were experiencing the emotions right along with the protagonist. I really enjoyed it, but then again, I always enjoy books that deal with the psyche. I would definitely recommend this book. The poetry isn't hard to follow at all. It's a quick book to read, also. It took me about 4 hours.

Books

I've been reading a lot lately...trying to pass the time until the new Twilight book comes out IN A YEAR!! I've got a long way to go and a lot of books to read, I guess. I just read the Uglies series. It's pretty sci-fi and I'm not a huge sci-fi fan at all. I really like the first two books. They were really interesting. There's a lot of hidden meaning in the books. It bashes how our society is a lot. It's pretty political, but VERY interesting and fun. I didn't really like the third book. Scott Westerfeld completely changed the main character from a hero to someone that I despised and didn't want to read about at all. There's a fourth book in the series I haven't read that is from a different person perspective. After the third book, I just didn't feel like reading it. But, the first two books were really good. I would recommend them. But be warned...they're a little out there, so if you choose to read them, have an open mind.

Ok, so I'm addicted to reading right now. I bought this book last night ("Just Listen" by Sarah Dessen) and I finished it this afternoon. It's definitely not an action or suspense story. It's so real (That's the best I can describe it...real). It's about a high school aged girl and all the struggles she's going through. It teaches the importance of having a good balance between listening and talking. Everyone has their own problems and always needs someone to listen to them. There's a cute little love story in there, but that's not what the book is based around. I really can't explain how wonderful this book is. I think every young adult/teenage girl should read this. It has some powerful messages in it. It's definitely not a cheesy story. PLEASE READ IT!! I really can't describe this book without making it sound sucky, so just take my word and read it. I'm about to read another called "Crank" by Ellen Hopkins. I'll let you know how it is.

Broken Computer

So, it's definitely been a while. Our computer crashed and it took a couple of weeks for us to finally find the time to fix it. It is now officially working! YAY!! So, for some updates, whether you care or not!...
First off, our condo is still not so much of condo. Last week the completion date was moved to the beginning of Decemeber which probably means January now. We're looking for a house to buy now. We are so done with all the lies and waiting. We wish the builder would just be honest with and stop getting our hopes up. Don't EVER build a Hearthside home...EVER!! They're terrible! Definitely wouldn't recommend them.I get to start working from home this week. I am sooooo excited! It'll make the job so much more enjoyable. Don't get me wrong, the job is great but it'll be even better from home!
Gavin turned 11 months yesterday!! CRAZY!!! That kid is growing up so quickly! It's insane! He totally can walk but he refuses to. We'll catch him taking something like 7 steps and when we make a sound or some how let him know that we're watching he'll stop, look around, and then slowly sit down. What a dork! Our friend Mary did a photoshoot with Gavin the other day. I'll post some (probably meaning 50...haha) of my favorite pictures that were taken. ENJOY!!

Family Pictures

So, here are the family pics I promised yesterday. We went down to Bridal Veil Falls and Mat (our brother-in-law) took the pictures. We had a good time and we think the pictures turned out great.
