We're home!

We're moved in now...with internet. It took a while to get hooked up, but we finally did it! Tim's mom is coming out on Saturday to help us paint our place. After it's painted, we'll take some pictures and post them, but until then, you get nothing. Gavin had his first birthday last week! He is so dang cute! He's talking a ton now. He attempts every word we try to teach him. It's so cute! Most of the time he doesn't get it right, but the attempt is the cutest part! To be honest with you all, it's 4:30 in the morning right now and I really can't think of anything to write, so I'll probably just go now and write more when I have something to say. :)

Halloween and house

It's definitely been a while (like always). Here's a little picture of us at Tim's company halloween party. Gavin was the cutest lobster EVER! He sure gets in to everything now that he can walk. He's also a lot happier. He loves his new independence.
Last blog I said that we were going to close on the 7th, well, the construction supervisor was out of town for a week, which slowed progression, so we're actually closing on the house today at 2:00. We are so excited to finally have a home. It is so beautiful! When we move in, I'll take some pictures and post them. This is perfect timing for our home. We now get to celebrate Gavin's 1st b-day in our home (he turns one next Tuesday) and we might have a Thanksgiving get-together at our place. FINALLY we'll be on our own! YAY!! We've been taking Gavin over to the house a lot so that he can become familiar with it. He now loves to explore every little part of the house. Hopefully the transition will go smoothly and it won't be too big of a shock for him. We'll be moving all of our stuff slowly over the week and hopefully on Saturday we'll be able to finish up and have everything set up so we can sleep there. We went to our new ward...it consists of 3 nurserys and has a whopping total of 3 kids in high school. haha We'll be having a house warming party probably that week after Thanksgiving and everyone is invited!! I'll give you all more details later. Well, I think that is all for right now. I'll write more when there's more to write!

Mark it on your calendar...Nov. 7!!!

We just found a home! It's still here in a South Jordan. It's a super sweet town home! We are so dang excited! It'll be done at the latest on Nov. 7. The builder was so awesome. The people before us just backed out so the builder is giving us the place for the standard price instead of having to pay for all the upgrades that the previous people had put in it. He's also going to throw in a way nice fridge and wood blinds for the entire house. He's also working with the construction supervisor to get everything expedited so that we can move in sooner. They need to get the carpet, appliances, and counter tops in. It's 3 bed rooms, 2 1/2 baths, 2 car garage, unfinished basement. It's really nice. I'll take pictures soon and post them.

Gavin walks now! He's so cute! He walked around the house for the first time on Monday. He's still not comfortable doing it on his own. He'll follow us around, though. He saw a baby chicken the other day and called it a duck. It was so cute! He loves to say 'cheese' now. String cheese is his favorite food, besides formula.

I just read Crank by Ellen Hopkins. It was one of the most intense/darkest books I've read, but I still really liked it. The story is mostly based off of the author's daughter's life. It's about a girl who is visiting her drug addicted father for the first time in 8 years. While she's visiting him, she is introduced to crystal meth. The story is about her addiction to it and how it affected her entire life. The book is written in poetry which adds to the intensity of the book. Through the poetry, Hopkins describes the addiction as if you were experiencing the emotions right along with the protagonist. I really enjoyed it, but then again, I always enjoy books that deal with the psyche. I would definitely recommend this book. The poetry isn't hard to follow at all. It's a quick book to read, also. It took me about 4 hours.

Books

I've been reading a lot lately...trying to pass the time until the new Twilight book comes out IN A YEAR!! I've got a long way to go and a lot of books to read, I guess. I just read the Uglies series. It's pretty sci-fi and I'm not a huge sci-fi fan at all. I really like the first two books. They were really interesting. There's a lot of hidden meaning in the books. It bashes how our society is a lot. It's pretty political, but VERY interesting and fun. I didn't really like the third book. Scott Westerfeld completely changed the main character from a hero to someone that I despised and didn't want to read about at all. There's a fourth book in the series I haven't read that is from a different person perspective. After the third book, I just didn't feel like reading it. But, the first two books were really good. I would recommend them. But be warned...they're a little out there, so if you choose to read them, have an open mind.

Ok, so I'm addicted to reading right now. I bought this book last night ("Just Listen" by Sarah Dessen) and I finished it this afternoon. It's definitely not an action or suspense story. It's so real (That's the best I can describe it...real). It's about a high school aged girl and all the struggles she's going through. It teaches the importance of having a good balance between listening and talking. Everyone has their own problems and always needs someone to listen to them. There's a cute little love story in there, but that's not what the book is based around. I really can't explain how wonderful this book is. I think every young adult/teenage girl should read this. It has some powerful messages in it. It's definitely not a cheesy story. PLEASE READ IT!! I really can't describe this book without making it sound sucky, so just take my word and read it. I'm about to read another called "Crank" by Ellen Hopkins. I'll let you know how it is.

Broken Computer

So, it's definitely been a while. Our computer crashed and it took a couple of weeks for us to finally find the time to fix it. It is now officially working! YAY!! So, for some updates, whether you care or not!...
First off, our condo is still not so much of condo. Last week the completion date was moved to the beginning of Decemeber which probably means January now. We're looking for a house to buy now. We are so done with all the lies and waiting. We wish the builder would just be honest with and stop getting our hopes up. Don't EVER build a Hearthside home...EVER!! They're terrible! Definitely wouldn't recommend them.I get to start working from home this week. I am sooooo excited! It'll make the job so much more enjoyable. Don't get me wrong, the job is great but it'll be even better from home!
Gavin turned 11 months yesterday!! CRAZY!!! That kid is growing up so quickly! It's insane! He totally can walk but he refuses to. We'll catch him taking something like 7 steps and when we make a sound or some how let him know that we're watching he'll stop, look around, and then slowly sit down. What a dork! Our friend Mary did a photoshoot with Gavin the other day. I'll post some (probably meaning 50...haha) of my favorite pictures that were taken. ENJOY!!

Family Pictures

So, here are the family pics I promised yesterday. We went down to Bridal Veil Falls and Mat (our brother-in-law) took the pictures. We had a good time and we think the pictures turned out great.

Nothing New

I was informed that it was time for another post, so here it is. We don't have much to update on, but of the few things that are going on, I'll start with the most depressing. We were informed that our condo won't be done until until the end of November now. Hopefully it's done before Gavin's first birthday (Nov. 20) so that we can have a sweet birthday party for him. We're actually just really hoping it's done before Christmas. Stupid builders! If they built the thing right the first time it would have passed the four-way inspection, but I guess they have fun doing things twice. They finally passed the inspection this past week instead of a month and a half ago. Oh well...whatever!
I'm almost done with training at JetBlue. I will "graduate" this upcoming Thursday! YAY! FINALLY! It's been a lot of fun, though. I've met some awesome people (shout out to Missy and Anita...holla!!) and eaten some delicious food. The hours have been a little hard. I work 4-midnight every night, so I don't ever really get to see Tim. Starting next Sunday, though, I'll start working my normal shifts, so only 26 hours a week. Once we get into our new place, I'll get to work from home, but until then I'm stuck in the call center at their headquarters. But anyways, GO JETBLUE!!
Gavin's 4th tooth has cut through...finally. He's like a whole new baby now that that tooth is through. He's so happy all the time now. I love it! He's hilarious! If I knew how to post videos, I would. If anyone out there knows how to do it, please tell me!! Gavin can also say a few words now. His first and favorite word is 'duck'. He can also say 'dog' for 'hot dog'. He chases the cat around saying 'cat, cat, cat' and sometimes 'kitty'. Sometimes he'll say 'shoe' and 'fish'. He'll say 'yes' if we ask him if he wants something. He won't say 'mom' or 'dad', though. He knows that all he has to do is whine and we'll come. He's a little brat! haha. He's growing up so fast, but it's so much fun! We love it!!
So, I'm really lame....I'm reading the Twilight books, again, for the third time! I'm retarded and bored. But these books are just sooooo cute and good. They still don't have the same effect they did the first time I read them, but they're still good. I want to be a vampire! That would be pretty hot.
We're going to get family pictures taken today! So I'll post some of those when I get them. We're super excited to finally have a family to take pictures of! So, I think I'm done with updates. I'll post some new stuff in the next few days, but until then...later!

I'm terrible!

So, obviously I'm a terrible blogger! I'm sorry! Life has been getting a little more crazy. Tim just started back up with school. It's his last semester! YAY!! We're building a condo in South Jordan and it's suppose to be done October 7th-ish. We can't wait to have our own place! It's super exciting! We've been busy trying to get everything in order so that after we move in things will run smoothly. We hope that first week we move in we'll be able to get our wood floors done, and then we'll do venecian plaster on all the walls and then we'll try to tackle the tile in the bathrooms and laundry room. We've got a lot of work cut out for us, but we're excited to make our place look fabulous! I just started a job with JetBlue. I have training for the next 6 weeks from 4-midnight every day and then after that I get to work from home! I'm way excited for this job!

But anyways, Gavin just got his first hair cut this past weekend. He did better than I thought he would. He's more handsome than ever. I just cut my hair super short for the first time ever! I about cried but then got over it pretty quickly. Jen did a really good job...thanks!!

His cute little hair pile!

He loves his new hair cut!!

Jen (Tim's sister), me, Gavin, and Taryn (sister-in-law)

Gavin wanted to show off the back of hair...looks good!

Labor Day

On Labor Day Tim's dad was in town so Gavin got to spend a little more time wth grandpa. We went to a park and had a BBQ with Tim's family. We had a great time with them. Gavin loved crawling around in the long grass and enjoyed the tastey dirt and leaves. Tim had a good time showing off is amazing strength...or maybe Mat was just good at taking the picture at just the right time so it looks like Tim has amazing strength (I'm thinking the latter is more correct).

Gavin got to visit dad at the office one day.
